What We’re Loving This January

Emerging from the post-Christmas haze can feel a little bleak. After weeks of rich burgundy tones, deep browns and cosy neutrals, January often arrives with grey skies and even greyer wardrobes. But this year, we’re doing things differently. We’re here to lighten the mood, brighten our spirits and inject a little joy into everyday dressing with pops of colour, playful prints and, of course, plenty of stripes.

One of our standout loves this month has to be the arrival of our new barrel-shape jeans. Relaxed yet stylish, they’re the perfect update to your everyday denim. We’ve been styling them with oversized shirts and easy tees for a look that’s effortlessly cool but still practical. They’re ideal for layering too — which is essential when it comes to unpredictable English weather. Throw on a knit, a gilet or a lightweight jacket and you’re ready for whatever the day brings.

Another January favourite? Gingham shirts. They’re fun, timeless and surprisingly versatile. Black and white gingham in particular has become our go-to print — it works beautifully with everything from leopard print to baby pink. In our opinion, it’s the perfect accompaniment to pastel colours, instantly adding interest while still feeling wearable. Whether you dress it up or keep it casual, gingham always brings a little joy to an outfit.

Layering has been a big theme for us this month. Gilets, sleeveless jumpers and waistcoats are everywhere — and we’re loving them even more when they come in vibrant colours. Think bold hues that lift an outfit and add personality without trying too hard. Layering doesn’t have to be boring; it’s the perfect opportunity to experiment and have a bit of fun.

We’ve also had some seriously bright shoes arrive recently, and they’ve quickly become a team favourite. Shoes are such an easy way to add a pop of colour and bring a playful edge to your look — especially in January. Fun dressing is the theme of the month, and we’re all about not taking fashion too seriously. When the skies are grey, make sure your outfits aren’t.

And it’s not just fashion we’re excited about. Over in our homeware section, stripes are having a moment. From striped candles and wipe-clean striped cushions to cosy throws, fun plates and colourful candles, these pieces are perfect for adding personality to your kitchen or living space. Small updates can make a big difference, especially during the darker months.

January is about lifting your mood, embracing colour and finding joy in the little things — whether that’s a statement stripe, a vibrant layer or a fun finishing touch. Because being never fully dressed isn’t just about what you wear, it’s about how it makes you feel. And this month, we’re choosing fun.
