At Bon Bon, we’re always a little surprised by how early spring styles start appearing. Seeing linen fabrics and short sleeves popping up in high-street stores just after Christmas feels very hopeful when the weather is still firmly in winter mode. That said, there’s something really uplifting about slowly introducing lighter colours and a more playful approach to dressing — especially when January needs all the help it can get.

That’s exactly why we think shoes are the perfect place to start transitioning into spring. They’re an easy way to add a splash of colour or a brighter feel to your wardrobe without having to fully commit to spring dressing (or risk freezing). A great pair of shoes can instantly lift an outfit, even if you’re still bundled up everywhere else.

To start the season off, we’ve had two new styles arrive that we’re already loving. First up is our wedged platform mule in a dark sage green. This style is a brilliant way to introduce colour while still keeping things wearable and practical. They look great worn with socks for a bit of extra warmth and pair beautifully with both jeans and skirts. We’re especially obsessed with this shade alongside leopard print — the dark sage works so well with it and gives that subtle nod to spring without feeling too bold.

We’ve also welcomed a new pair of baby pink lace-up trainers with dark red contrast detailing. These are the perfect everyday, throw-on-and-go pair — ideal for running around, styling casually, and wearing on repeat. They genuinely go with everything, and the soft pink adds just the right amount of freshness.

One of our favourite things about these trainers is how easy they are to switch up. We’ve been having fun changing the laces to completely transform the look — leopard print laces or a flash of neon orange instantly make them feel new and give a statement finish, without having to change your shoes at all. It’s such a simple way to refresh an outfit and add personality, and we’re fully on board with mixing things up this season.

Spring might still feel a little way off, but adding small touches like these is the perfect way to ease into it — one step at a time.
